With the obvious rise in the use of cell and smart phones in the U.S., my experiment set out to answer the following question:

Does the rise in cell phone and smart phone use close the generation gap of using this technology?

My Hypothesis is that:

The gap between generational use of a cell phone or a smart phone is smaller now than 5 years ago.

After putting together a survey for participants, I asked 5 people from the following age groups to answer 6 questions on their cell phone or smart phone usage:• 10-19 year olds• 20-29 year olds• 30-39 year olds• 40 year old and beyond

My results of my experiment proved my hypothesis correct.

Five years ago, the generational gap was around 25%

Today, however, that gap is 0%

My results may be inaccurate based on a couple of issues:

• My survey was a bit confusing to participants.

• The number of participants should probably have been closer to 100 rather than 20.
