What is it?• The separation of contaminants from water using
electricity and then physical separation from the water using stainless steel micron filtration.
What are the results?• Water that is reusable and clean for discharge.
• Solids that are in a form that can be disposed into a non-hazardous landfill.
Electro Coagulation (EC) and
Advanced Mechanical Separator
(AMS) NO CHEMICALS USED!
First Phase Cleaning Process
With the use of clean electricity, the Electro Coagulation Systems efficiently removes a wide range of contaminants with a single system. The molecular structure of the contaminate becomes oxidized into a non-hazardous form or coagulant.
Electro Coagulation (EC)

How does it Work?• Electrical current passes through
water using bipolar electric metal plates/blades in a patented chamber.
• Converts alternating current (AC) to direct current (DC) voltage.
• Destabilizes suspended, emulsified, or dissolved oil and other constituents in an aqueous medium.

Electro Coagulation
BENEFITS
• no chemicals; no chemical safety requirements• kills virus, cysts, & coliform bacteria• better removal capabilities than for Chemical
Coagulation • removes species that CC cannot remove• produces cleaner water and less sludge• sludge filterable; pass leachability tests• EC results in 80% less solids• Solids dewaters 76% faster• minimal setup time• no temperature effect• no moving parts; small footprint
Electro CoagulationApplications:
PRETREATMENT FOR FILTRATION (AMS)
• Currently, pretreatment to AMS and RO
• Removal of suspended solids is most cost-effective application of EC & AMS
• EC better removes Fats, Oils, & Greases (FOG)

Electro Coagulation Has Been Successfully Used to:
• harvest protein, fat, and fiber from food processor waste streams
• recover emulsified oil from slop oil• separate drilling mud to make water reusable• clean and separate production water• clean and separate fracturing water• recycle water, allowing closed loop systems• remove metals and oil from wastewater• recondition antifreeze by removing oil, dirt, and
metals
Electro Coagulation Has Been Successfully Used to:
• recondition brine chiller water by removing bacteria, fat, etc
• pretreatment before finer TSS removal technologies like AMS
• precondition boiler makeup water by removing silica, hardness, TSS, etc
• recondition boiler blow down by removing dissolved solids eliminating the need for boiler chemical treatment
Electro Coagulation Has Been Successfully Used to:
• remove BOD, TSS, TDS, FOG, etc., from wastewater before disposal to POTW, thus reducing or eliminating discharge surcharges
• de-water sewage sludge and stabilize heavy metals in sewage, lowering freight and allowing sludge to be land applied
• condition and polish drinking water• remove chlorine and bacteria before
water discharge or reuse
Second Phase Cleaning ProcessAfter contaminates are separated from the waste stream
with the electro coagulation, a filtration system is employed to remove additional suspend solids (TSS).
The Advanced Mechanical Separator.
Advanced Mechanical Separator(AMS)
Uses 100 down to 0.05 micron filters
Advanced Mechanical Separator Post EC
• In concert with the electro coagulation, they employ the use of a revolutionary processing system without having to use chemicals.
• Advanced Mechanical Separator (AMS) computer-controlled self-cleaning stainless steel filtration system removes particles, minerals, or anything in solid form from production water.
• Different modules can be assembled to achieve
specific stated objectives for cleaning various fluids.
The AMS system under low air pressure removes molecules from water. Post EC, this is accomplished through these steps:
• Processing the waste stream through sintered stainless steel filters using air pressure.
• Absolute filtration of solids using 100 down to 0.05 microns filters.• Configuring the process to "target" different water and solids
depending on the size of the filter used and the amount of air pressure applied.
• Customizing each system to a small footprint which is energy efficient.
• System design is fully integrated with pumps that are durable in many industries.
• Each system is scalable and modular, so large integrated systems can be built.
• Maintenance is simplified through the self-cleaning function of the system, while it operates continuously under the management of field personnel.
