1. Assess and enhance opportunities to promote the responsible use of social media;

Streamline with PV App - one place for information ; Continue Facebook, Instagram at MS

!  PVES: Technology class unit on Digital Citizenship using Common Sense Media

!  PVMS: Instagram updated weekly with events taking place. Technology class covers Digital Citizenship.

!  PVHS: Developed a PLN on Twitter (Principal, teachers and athletics), High School Facebook Page, High School Instagram account, Digital Citizenship curriculum taught by Marifran DeMaine

!  PVCSD: PV App

2. Assess and enhance faculty communication with parents

!  PVES: Weekly Word, Homework Help Nights, Increased reporting periods and offered a second conference to many families, P.E. News, new monthly newsletter which includes reminders, “What’s Happening, and Fitness Tips, OT - Tips and Tricks and summer exercise activities

!  PVMS: Principal letters, Daily Announcements go out in an email, Faculty and students use the LMS – (MBC) to communicate H.W., “Clinical Corner” sent out quarterly

!  PVHS: Monthly letters home to parents, Chemistry Forum for parents, students and teachers on upcoming Chemistry changes. Teachers regularly use “Remind” app for parent communication. Athletic information communicated weekly, HS Principal and Athletic Director actively use twitter and Facebook to share news

!  PVCSD: Achieve 3000 parent night, Attendance Summit, Ongoing encouragement to keep open communication with parents

3. Assess and enhance internal communication networks in the schools

!  Transition Talks between 4th and 5th grade teams and the 8th and 9th guidance counselors.

!  Building and District Committees; Technology Committee, ELA Focus Committee, K – 12 Research Committee, Professional Development Committee, Building Steering Committee, Technology Committee, Schools to Watch Committee, Clinical Meetings, Faculty Meetings, Grade level team meetings, scheduling committees, Attendance Summit

!  PVHS: Phone system with teacher extensions communicated and encouraged for use. Email address books encouraged for use, REMIND app used for faculty, Google Drive implementation for all shared documents. Revised procedures communicated regularly. Athletic information communicated weekly.

4. Promote and implement opportunities and resources for parent help on student

homework and new standards; getting the word out for better attendance

!  PVES: Homework Help Nights, Curriculum roadmaps, Kindergarten “Toolkits” Donated by the PVEF

!  PVMS, LMS – My Big Campus – communicate H.W. assignments, Power School – Grades on-line

!  PVHS: Chemistry Forum, 9th Grade Orientation video taped for parents and put on line. Pre-Prom Presentation for parents.

!  PVCSD: Achieve 3000 Parent Night

!  Programs were promoted in various ways. (Weekly newsletters, principal letters, websites, Connect Ed emails and calls, Entrance signs, teacher phone calls and emails)

5. Provide information to parents on anxiety, including school phobia and test anxiety

!  PVES: Addressed in the Weekly Word and on the school psychologists website.

!  PVMS: Clinical Corner Newsletter, Updated website information, 5th Grade Parent Information Night

!  Case by case discussions

6. Enhance district communication to the entire community on issues that matter to all we serve. Get

word out on what we do to all with consistent message.
