Breaking the Silence covers:

• childabuse• riskofsignificantharm,• reportableconduct,• sexualmisconduct, and/or• conduct that breaches the Breakingthe

Silence Code of Conduct.

It does not extend to other forms of abuse anddoes not cover any other forms of grievance orpersonal injury.

BreakingtheSilence applies to all persons holding a position of authority within the church. Those in a positionofauthority within the church include all ministers, home missionaries, deaconesses, licentiates, elders, paid employees, church workers whether paid or volunteers and all those working with children and youngpeople.

Words in bold have a specific meaning as defined in Breaking the Silence. Copies of the Breaking the Silence Code of Conduct, Our Policy and Speak Out Seek Help brochures are available at this church.

Breaking the Silence is not limited to child abuse. As a church we are concerned for all people, regardless of age, who may be abused.
