WHAT IS BULLYING?

• Bullying is when someone is being hurt either by words or

actions, feels bad because of it, and has a hard time

stopping what is happening.

TYPES OF BULLYING

• Sending mean text messages like cell phone or internet

• Posting statements online that are unkind or not true

• Making negative comments about someone

• Name calling

• Making fun of someone

• Laughing at someone

• Starting rumors or telling lies about someone

• Trying to make someone feel bad about who they are like

religion, race, sexual orientation, ethnicity, disabilities, etc…

• Pushing or hitting an individual

TYPES OF BULLYING

WHERE DOES BULLYING OCCUR?

Bullying can occur everywhere.

• School

• Home

• Work

• Around neighborhood

WHAT INFLUENCES BULLYING?

• They want to be popular.

• They want to feel tough.

• Bullied at home.

• People may be jealous.

EFFECTS OF BULLYING

• Do poor in school

• Anxiety and/or depression

• Kids tend to skip school due to bullying which may lead to

dropping out of school

• Suicide

• Anger

• Anti-social behaviors

EFFECTS OF BULLYING

SOLUTIONS

• When people see someone

getting bullied they need to

report it.

• Try to help students feel

comfortable and stand up for

them.

• Open communication like

making dialog through therapy.

• If people get together to stand

up against bullying it is more

likely to prevent bullying.

• 90% of 4th through 8th graders are victims

• Bulling happened everywhere.

• We must stand together to stop bulling.

• There are helping centers around us.

• If you see a case of bulling you must report it and ask for help.

• Don’t be afraid.

• Bulling is not a small thing there are tragic consequences, if you

don’t take action.

• Use resources.
