• 3 out of 4 students have reported being bullied in school.

• 1 out of every 5 students do not feel safe using the restrooms at their own school.

• Nearly 160,000 students do not go to school on any given day, due to bullying.

• It is estimated that there is over 19,000 attempted suicides each year due to cyber bullying.

• In a year, 1 out of every 13 people under the age of 19 attempt suicide.

• BULLYCIDE- A suicide caused as a result of bullying.

• Bullying leads to depression, low self-esteem, and isolation.

• Being bullied causes students to be 2-3 times more likely to develop illnesses and continuously have headaches.

• Studies show that boys identified as bullies in middle school are 4 times as likely as their peers to have more then one criminal conviction by the age of 24.

• If you are over 12 years old and decide to bully someone, you may be committing a criminal act.

• Reactive bullying occurs once every 7 minutes, that’s almost 206 occurrences a DAY. On average it only takes 37 seconds to bully someone.

• Over 250,000 students reported being physically attacked by their peers a month.

• The rate of bullying has TRIPLED in the last 20 years.

• About 23 kids that are bullied in OUR school, may attempt suicide.

There were 1,189 suicides in New York

alone in 2005.
