Introduction:-Burial history analysis is very important in order to place constraints on the timing of thermal maturation of organic matter, and generation and migration of hydrocarbons in a sedimentary basin. Thermal maturity of organic matter progressively increases as sediments subside through time. The rate of total subsidence varies and depends on geological setting. For example, the subsidence rate in a tectonically active area, such as a rift basin, is much more than that in an intracratonic basin, which is mostly stable through time.

Factors Controls Burial History

• Sedimentation rate Uplift & subsidence occurs SR (Sedimentary rate) high-subsidences SR-low uplift As SR high, Temperature & maturity increases due to high pressure Porosity Decreases Compositional changes

• Tectonics It’s a Major factor Control Basin architecture Uplift & Subsidence Environmental control

Methodology We can generate burial history curve using SchlumbergerPetroMod software. Use well Data
