Personal Fitness TrainingLearn techniques to assess fitness levels; design and customize exercise programs based on individual fitness goals; demonstrateproper execution of weightlifting, stretching and isometric exercises; and become familiar with the business of personal fitnesstraining. This 9-week certificate is offered through a partnership with the World Instructor Training Schools (W.I.T.S) and comprised of16 hours of lecture, 16 hours of practical training and a 30-hour internship. It covers topics including biomechanics, exercise physiol-ogy, fitness testing, equipment usage and health assessment. The National Board of Fitness Examiners Exam (NBFE) will beadministered on the last week. Participants are strongly encouraged to attend an orientation offered one week prior to the start of theprogram.

Personal Care Home AdministratorPersonal Care Homes (PCH) provide lodging, food and support services for people who are elderly or who have mental orphysical disabilities. Typically, residents of Personal Care Homes need help with dressing, feeding, taking medications, mobilityissues and finances. BC3 offers the 100-hour standardized department-approved training course for first-time PCH administra-tors ($1,050 total) and individual courses to fulfill the 24 hours of yearly job related training required of current PCH administrators(priced separately). Topics will include all those required by the PA Department of Public Welfare (DPW). The DPW has definedqualifications that must be met prior to being certified as a PCH Administrator. Completers of the PCH Administrator Training mustalso pass a competency test. This certificate is offered at both BC3 Main Campus and BC3 @ LindenPointe.

Notary TrainingThis is a state-approved First Time Notary Training Seminar that fulfills the three-hour mandatory education provision for new Penn-sylvania notaries. The PA Notary Public Law specifically mandates the hours of basic notary education for all individuals who areapplying for a notary commission for the first time after July 1, 2003. Notaries administer oath, witness and authenticate documentsand perform other authentication duties.
