Cabrillo College The National Hispanic University TRANSFER GUIDE
This Transfer Guide is between CABRILLO COLLEGE and THE NATIONAL HISPANIC UNIVERSITY. It outlines CABRILLO COLLEGE courses that are eligible for students to apply toward NHU’s Bachelor degrees.
Admission as a Transfer Student from Cabrillo College The National Hispanic University
Please note the following:
The National Hispanic University accepts as transfer all courses which are accepted by California State University and the University of California systems.
IF YOU DON’T SEE A COURSE LISTED, VISIT www.assist.org
Minimum units needed to be considered a transfer student are 12 semester or 18 quarter units.
A STUDENT CAN ENROLL AT ANY TIME.
Maximum units allowed to transfer at the undergraduate level are: 90 units.
Minimum GPA is 2.0 cumulative but we will transfer individual courses with a C- grade.
Minimum NHU Residency Requirement to graduate from NHU is 30 units, at least 50% of which must be Upper Division.
Cabrillo College AA/AS or AA-T/AS-T graduates are transferred to NHU with junior standing. (This does not apply to financial aid standing or to those who change major.)
NHU also accepts completion of IGETC or CSU GE certification as meeting NHU general education breadth requirements.
A course accepted for credit transfer does not necessarily fulfill a program requirement. (Proper advisement from a student’s academic advisor/transfer counselor is recommended).
All articulated courses from Cabrillo College to The National Hispanic University are transferred at the lower division level only.
Transfer students adhere to all admissions procedures. A candidate will be considered a transfer student having completed a minimum of 12 transferable semester units, or 18 transferable quarter units of college level coursework, with a cumulative 2.0 GPA from all institutions attended. Candidates are reviewed on the merits of their prior academic achievements and potential for achieving the goals and objectives of the program to which they seek admission. Transferring students are asked to complete the NHU application available at
www.NHU.edu or from an NHU Enrollment Adviser at 1-877-584-6648
Unless otherwise indicated NHU courses are 3 semester credits. The standard unit
conversion applies to schools with quarter units.
