PRINCIPAL’S REPORT
Dear parents and caregivers, Camdenville Cares This week for Camdenville Cares we have been talking about encouraging others and how making others feel good about themselves makes us feel good too. We have spoken about ‘push ups’ rather than ‘put downs’.
Congratulations to our Preschool – rated as Exceeding We have recently been assessed and rated against the National Quality Standard in accordance with the requirements of the Education and Care Services National Law Act 2010 (National Law) and Education and Care Services National Regulations (National Regulations). As a result of this assessment Camdenville Public School Preschool has received an overall rating against the National Quality Standard of Exceeding National Quality Standard (E). This rating takes into account the information that was available to the assessor during the two days of observation, interviews with staff and documentation reviewed by a team of assessors.
The preschool team have worked hard at making a significant shift in practice and programming as well as redesigning the environment over the past 3
years to make the learning responsive and engaging for the children in their care.
Book Week 2019
We have number of activities planned to celebrate the secret power of reading this year. These activities include a giant story circle, class door displays based on the Child Book Council’s finalists, Get Caught Reading, a writing competition, book reviews and plenty more. We would love to see you involved as well- on Wednesday at 9 am family members are invited to come in to classes and read to small groups of children- bring a favourite story, a passage, short chapter, or even a poem along to share with children in your child’s class. We will also have some quality texts available for you to read. Film Festival 2019 Dates have been organized for this year’s Camdenville Film Festival – Friday 25 October 2019. Put it in your diaries for a great night out. Each year the Film Festival is open to families and students K to 6 putting in a 3- 4 minute film on anything they would like. Films in the past have ranged from dinosaurs chasing a family through the bush, a lego airport documentary, stick men animation, special effects and car chases, zombie horror and film noir. The Film Festival is planned so that families can work on their film during the holiday break and hand in their entry for ‘judging’ when school returns.
The Film Committee are looking for help this year with decorating the hall, selling the snacks and generally giving a hand. Film or tech skills are not essential but if there are a few out there interested in supporting the actual process of downloading and getting films ready to show, perhaps your in the industry or just enthusiastic with a camera or computer, come along to a brief meeting here at school on Friday 23 August 2019 at 3 pm. Project Based Learning Updates- Stage 2 and 3 culminating events for Education Week
