What are Ethics?

Ethics are the rules of behavior that govern a group or a society. Employees who exhibit ethical behavior in the workplace are honest and fair. They do NOT lie, cheat, or steal.

Qualities employers look for in an employee are:

1. Cooperation

2. Respect

3. Teamwork

4. Ability to work well with others

The three most common learning styles are:

1. Auditory – learn best by hearing information

2. Visual – learn best by seeing information

3. Tactile or Kinesthetic – learn best by hands-on.

What is a job specific skill?

A job-specific skill is a skill necessary for a particular job. For example: if your career involves computers- you need to know specific computer programs to do your job

What is a transferable skill?

Transferable skills are general skills used in school and various jobs. Some common transferable skills are:

Listening skills

Communication skills

Problem –Solving Skills

Social Skills

Adaptability Skills

Why is it important to develop transferable skills?
