CENTRAL FLORIDA RESEARCH PARK The CFRP, totaling +/- 1,027 acres, is located in the East submarket of the greater Orlando MSA. Dominated by the University of Central Florida, the East Orlando submarket is recognized by its high-tech companies operating within the Central Florida Research Park (CFRP) and the Quadrangle Office Parks. The CFRP is widely considered one of the Top Ten research and development centers in the world. Currently, over 116 companies with 9,500 employees are pursuing activities in simulation and training, optics and lasers, behavioral sciences, diagnostic test equipment and oceanographic equipment, cancer research, electric power generation, and wireless communications. More than 400 UCF students or graduates are employed in the CFRP. The Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division (NAWC/TSD), the Air Force Agency for Modeling and Simulation (AFAMS), and the Army Simulation, Training and Instrumentation Command (STRICOM) – the focal point of the nation’s simulation and training industry – have their headquarters in the Research Park. Many of the buildings in the CFRP & Quadrangle were developed by Crescent Resources, Taurus Investment Holdings, or The Alter Group. Currently, there are no office properties under construction in either the Quadrangle or Central Florida Research Park.
