•It has an area of 341 ha.•It is located in Manhattan.•It’s near the Fifth Avenue and the Museum Mile.•It is the most visited urban park in the United States.• It receives approximately thirty-five million visitors annually.•It has it’s own Police Department.

•It was opened in 1857.•It cost 10 millions dollars.•It was designed by Frederick Law Olmsted.•It is inspired in the Bois de Boulogne, in Paris; and in the Hyde Park in London.• Before building, the terrain was very irregular.
