PR/Marketing vs. Recruiting

Ø  Recruitment Advertising Firm

Ø  Facebook, Twitter pages, URL

Metrics….or lack of them

Available Sources/usage

Ø  Linkedin.com, ATS, and other websites

Interview/screening strategies

Recruiting Infrastructure

How I got started…………

Where are we today? ü  New RFQ for Advertising Firm – will create new

branding campaign

ü  Decent usage of ATS and talent search ü All candidates are being captured ü Not all sources are being captured

ü  Separate facebook page with Works4Us jobs tab and new contract with Branchout

ü  We own and have full edit of webpage – Haven’t been able to adapt SEO or mobi YET!

ü  Linkedin.com Recruiter Solutions license and Careers page

ü  Targeted Selection/DDI now mandatory for all departments

Where are we today? Ø  Take the Interview video screening and high

usage of Skype interviewing

Ø  Evaluating more skills testing tools and evaluating a behavioral assessment tool.

Ø  Developing core interview guides for all positions

Ø  Eliminated Monster and Careerbuilder contracts – saving $100,000 in sources not working; cut $200,000 in print ads first year…

Ø  Hiring a Sourcing Specialist for the first time

What can we learn from Healthcare?

…..really SHARING BEST PRACTICES

v  Children’s Hospitals share information in a listserv

v  Healthcare HR Association and Healthcare Recruiting Associations

v  Copy the Competition….The Jones’ effect

v  Partner with Background check company to share terminations of employees

v  Most wait for the right person and do without until they find them…some jobs stay open more than a year
