Recognizing a Problem

- Evidence shows that the Earth’s temperatures are getting warmer, sea ice is melting, and sea level is rising

- Animal and plant activities are changing in response to warmer temperatures

Researching the Cause- Scientists determine if it is a natural

cycle or if there is a manmade cause

- Correlations between human activity and greenhouse gases indicate that climate change is manmade

- Scientists create models to show how much change is possible and what effects may happen

- Flooding or drought- Increase in size of some deserts- Thawing of polar ice caps

Changing Behavior- To stop global warming we must

reduce the amount of greenhouse gases we put into the atmosphere

- Drive electric or hybrid cars- Make buildings that use less

electricity- Increase recycling
