1. Evolution of gas: In some chemical reactions charactersticproperty is evolution of gas.

e.g. when zinc react with dil. Sulphuric acid then hydrogen gas is evolved out.

Dil. Hydrochloric acid

e.g. when sodium carbonate react with dil. Hydrochloric acid , then carbondioxide gas is evolved out.

2. Formation of precipitate: In some chemical reactions an un soluble substance left out at the botom of the test tube, this unsoluble part is called precipitate.

eg. When potassium iodide is react with lead nitrate a yellow colour precipitate of lead iodide is formed.

3. Change in color: Some chemical reactions are characterised by

a change in color.

Eg. When citric acid react with purple colored potassium permanganate solution the color changes from purple to colorless.

4. Change in temperature:- some chemical reactions characterised by change in temperature.

it consist 2 type of reactions:-a) Exothermic reactions .b) endothermic reactions.

In exothermic reaction heat produced after the reactions. The temperature of the product so formed increases.

eg: when water is added to quick lime , then slaked lime is formed with increase in temperature of the solution.

6. Change in state:- some chemical reactions characterised by change in state.

eg :the combustion of chemical reaction is characterised by a change in state.
