Financial center and heart of the city.

The heart of the city, holds lots of neon light shop windows, and its really near Broadway, the district of the theatres.

This complex of 19 buildings owned by a family of bankers was built in the fifth avenue.

The Observatory of the GE building (NBC TV sede),

the Ice rink.

New York, the door to liberty

For Immigrants this statue placed at the entrance of New York harbor, was a symbol of freedom. They came here escaping from wars, famine, political prosecutions etc.

The Bronx zoo has lots of lights.

It has become a tradition to go there at christmas.

Macy’s a special christmasMacy’s at fifth avenue, is a traditional big store, and can be compared to El Corte Ingles, referring to Christmas decorations.

The eighth floor of this store becomes Santa’s headquarters or office during christmas. All comes since the recording of “Miracle in 34th street” film.

December 31st at Times Square

They countdown the time for the end of the year in big digital clocks placed

on neon lights in the buildings. Times Square has music, artists and

lots of people for 9 hours before the clock strikes

A big illuminated ball is placed on top of building one at Times square

The ball illuminates and falls down at twelve o'clock.

People go crazy. There are fireworks.

Buildings are so big the ball looks tiny

Four minutes before 12:00 the crowds sing along “Imagine” by John Lennon as a peace wish. Its really moving!
