TRANSCRIPT

Chrysalis is a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating a pathway to self-sufficiency for homeless and low-income individuals by providing the resources and support needed to find and retain employment.

For 28 years, Chrysalis has assisted over 41,000 people at three centers located throughout Los Angeles County where poverty is most pervasive: downtown Los Angeles (Skid Row), Santa Monica, and San Fernando Valley (Pacoima).

The men and women who turn to Chrysalis often have multiple barriers to finding employment and have nowhere else to go:

• 100% are homeless and/or low income individuals

• 52% have not received a high school diploma or GED

• 46% are ex-felons and 70% have been incarcerated

• 70% have participated or are participating in substance abuse programs.
