Step 1: Partner uses Cisco Discovery Service desktop client to perform network discovery and inventory

Step 2: Cisco Discovery Service enabled tool transfers data over secure WAN connection to Cisco where data is analyzed

Step 3: Analyzed data is returned to Cisco Discovery Service enabled tool, which processes data and produces vendor reports

Step 1:CDS Data Collection and Upload • Use Cisco® Discovery Service-enabled assessment tools

to perform discovery, upload, and processingUse your existing tool documentation and support resources

• Tip: Enable email notifications in desktop app for data-ready alert• Collectors—Third-party support to “fit” into partners’ workflow

– Netformx – SolarWinds – NeteXpose – RISC Networks – InfoBlox

• Best Practices:– Telnet and SSH must be configured on discovery– SNMP-based collection alone is not recommended

• Collectors provide:– SNMP data– Command line interface data (especially important for SN validation) – Device configuration for advanced product advisories

Step 2:Access My Cisco• Open a supported web browser

(Mozilla, Chrome, Safari, etc.)

• Go to www.cisco.com

• Click the Partners menu

• Click My Cisco

• Log in with your cisco.comusername and password (partner-level access isrequired)

Step 3:Add Smart Services Connection • Click Add Modules

• Locate Smart Services Connectionmodule and click Add to My Cisco

• Scroll to top of page andclick See Workspace to return to My Cisco® Workspace

Step 4: Launch CDS/360 Portal

Click Start Smart Services Connection

Click CDS/360 A summary of your transactionswill be displayed

Transaction Summary List• Single-line display of each of your transactions showing:

– Transaction ID, date, user ID, user company, customer, status, theater, and market segment– Date (if any) that Medianet, Cisco® Optimization Services, IPv6,

and contract reports were generated– Number of devices uploaded and number processed

• Add new dashboard• Give a dashboard name• Maximum of six dashboards allowed

• Add available dashlets• Maximum of six dashlets

• Move from dashboard to dashboard by clicking on the tab

• Close the dashboard by clicking on “x”

• Set the dashboard as adefault dashboard
