Goal and RationaleThe 5th grade students will increase their understanding of the Civil War by examining the battles, their time lines and the Generals that led their respective armies into battle. It is important the curriculum include this information so that the students will have a complete history and understanding of the Civil War and how it affected the United States.

• To name in chronological order the battles listed in lesson

• To name the Generals that were involved from the Union and Confederate Armies
