The Infusion Matrix Team Matt Leuchtmann is a K-12 Gifted Education Specialist and Cross Categorical Disabilities Specialist with over a decade of experience differentiating instruction across the learning spectrum. Matt’s been working in e-learning environments throughout his educational career, and specializes in facilitation of creative problem solving and Project Based Learning.

Michael Deslongchamps is an IT professional with over a decade of web development experience utilizing various web technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, .NET Framework, PHP, and Flash. Michael has industry tested knowledge in the fields of dynamic web design and development, interactive multimedia development, game programming, database design and implementation, 2D/3D animation, and user-based iterative design.

Pilot District: Gasconade County R-II

Casey Fisher is Director of Technology for the Gasconade County R-2 School District. Currently in his 13th year with GCR2, he began as a middle school social studies teacher. Motivated by technology, he became part of the initial pilot group of 1:1 teachers in the R-II district. He later became the first Technology Integration Specialist for the district and began working exclusively with teachers helping them introduce new technologies into their classrooms. Eventually he became the Director of Technology and continues to spread his passion for technology and education.

Dr. Scott Hayes is an assistant superintendent in the Gasconade County R-II School District. He has his doctoral degree in Educational Leadership from Saint Louis University, an Educational Specialist degree from Webster University, his Masters in Secondary Education from Missouri State University and a Bachelor in Secondary Education from the University of Central Missouri. Over the course of Dr. Hayes' career, he has had the opportunity to coach, teach math and science in grades 6-12, and at the university graduate level as well as work as an educational consultant. In addition, he has successfully acted in a variety of leadership roles including as Middle School Principal, and Central Office overseeing gifted education, guidance and counseling, health services, English as a Second Language, special education, district-wide curriculum, instruction, assessment, professional development and School Improvement. Also, his support and promotion of lifelong learning are evidenced by service on the various State advisory boards including the State Homeless Task-force and the Commissioners Committee of Practitioners.

The Problem

Technological advances have provided a dizzying array of powerful tools for education; however, the tools of e-learning have advanced so rapidly that many good educators are struggling to effectively implement them in a manner that provides a research based approach, engages students, captures relevant data, and informs instruction.
