Banned by the Catholic Church, snubbed by society, and buried by rock and roll, Tango music is more passionate and popular than ever!
AN EVENING WITH GU10
GU10 are joined by the popular choirs Bel Canto and the Guernsey Welsh Male Voices for an evening hosted by Jim Cathcart to raise funds for a new ambulance for the St John Emergency Ambulance Service. The evening is rounded off with some up tempo folk music from The Vraic Gatherers. Seating is at tables of 10 and includes a buffet supper.
BERNSTEIN REVEALED: A CABARETFresh from the Barbican’s Leonard Bernstein centenary celebrations, this unique evening brings three world-class performers to the St James stage. Performed live are songs from West Side Story, Candide, On the Town and Wonderful Town; as well as gorgeous rarities from 1600 Pennsylvania Ave., Peter Pan and others. Broadcaster Edward Seckerson returns to St James with double Olivier Award nominee Sophie-Louise Dann and Tony nominated arranger, composer and musical director Jason Carr on the piano. Through stories and songs, the trio draw upon their vast knowledge of the scores and stories behind them to create a unique evening that explores the life and music of this extraordinary man.
