COMMANDER’S CORNER
Happy Fall Post 39!
As the summer comes to a close, let us reflect on the past accomplishments and bright chang-es in our future! It is the hard work and positive attitudes that help us grow and become such a great post! As a matter of fact, our Post 39 Legion Family achieved 100% membership across the board! Congratulations!
Since we are always trying to make Post 39 a better place, I would like to take notice to all of the improvements that have been made in my past terms: a remodeled back room, a community library, a new ice machine, a new glasswash-er behind the bar, kitchen upgrades, new security camera system, new P o in t -o f -S a le s ys te m , the acceptance of credit cards, air conditioning upgrades, new flooring, and much, much more! A big thank you to all who participated in making this happen! If you have any suggestions on how to improve our post, please let me know! Let us make Post 39 the best it can be!
We are also going non-smoking in the entire building on October 1st. However, we will be providing a covered, outdoor facility just off of the canteen for smokers to still enjoy recreation.
Bingo is starting back up and will now be managed by the SAL. There will be hot dogs and a pro-gressive jackpot on Tuesday nights, starting at 6pm. Don’t forget, it’s members only while Bingo is held in the canteen, so bring a friend and

Recently, Chapter 39 S.A.L. has been through extensive restructuring. As a part of the Legion Family, many Dual Members have stepped up to ensure a solid foundation to secure Squadron 39’s future. We are now looking for new and bright officers to fill positions, and there are many Legion Officers willing to mentor. If you know someone or are interested, please contact me or any other S.A.L. officer.

Our next Poker Run is Sunday, September 23. Let’s make it a great one! As the season begins to change, the cooler weather will bring extra rewards to all riders around, whether supporting a cause or not. Let us strive to maintain our own safety as well as educate and remind others of secure practices when sharing the roads.
Ride Safe,
Director, Chapter 39
As your new ALR Director, I would like to thank you for this opportunity to support the Le-gion Family cause. The Legion Riders were hon-ored on August 15th to escort the remains of Petty Officer First Class Richard Clemens from the Melbourne Airport to the Funeral Home in Vero Beach. I want to thank all of the riders who participated in this late-evening event. Chapter 39 ALR also partici-pated in manning a donation table at the mall, secured by Lonnie Geraci. Other volunteers were: Tim Turner, John Herpfer, Steve Follet (Turtle), and, from Step Up America, John McIntosh and Adrian Gar-cia. Thank you all!! If anyone else would like to volunteer during these events, please contact me.
