VA121 A Nickel-plated open frame corkscrew with ball bearing assist. German Registered Design Number 1,308,467 of May 28, 1934, Firma Adolf Menz Wve. There is a locking device on the shaft. It keeps the frame from pushing up when the cork is self-extracted. It can then be depressed to push the frame up the shaft for easy removal of the cork from the worm. $65

Casco Adhesives is still in business and is located in Kristinehamn and Nacka, Sweden. It is part of Akzo Nobel, one of the world’s leading chemicals corporations. The company sells and develops adhesives and adhesive systems for the wood-working industry. In 1932, the Borden Company introduced Casco Glue in the U.S. market.
