Homework• Homework Binder

– All homework should come home and return to school in their STAR Homework Binder *NEW*

• Late Homework– Must complete during

recess

• Typical Week’s Homework:– Spelling/Word Study

• Given Mondays, DUE FRIDAYS– Math

• 4 times per week– Reading

• 3rd Grade: 20 minutes every day

– Social Studies and/or Science• Occasionally

Grading• Homework Assignments:

– ✓+Submitted on time, well done, neat, complete, 90% correct

– ✓Handed in on time, complete, 80% correct– ✓- Late, incomplete, or mostly incorrect

• Tests & Quizzes:– Traditional grading scale, point value will vary

• Projects & Activities:– Assessed with rubrics that are specific to the

particular task• Please refer to the SCASD grade profile for details

about how letter grades are assigned

Family Journals• Sent home Friday• Students write a minimum of five sentences

about the week • Written in letter format- can be to anyone! • Person must write back• Anything can be added! This is a personal

collection of 3rd grade memories and a great way to communicate with others about what is happening in school!

Behavioral Expectations
