CREATING USB DRIVE FOR FIRMWARE UPDATE

1. Open Disk Utility: Disk Utility can be found at Finder > Applications > Utilities > Disk Utility.

Note: Ensure the USB drive is to the computer and that no important data is on the USB drive. Creating the

bootable disk for the FW update WILL erase all data on the USB drive.

2. Download the FW update .dmg file that corresponds to your SanDisk Extreme II SSD capacity.

3. In Disk utility Select the partition of the USB drive (in this example Untitled) and select the restore tab.

4. Next Drag the partition to “Destination”

5. Next click ”Image” and browse to and select the FW .dmg file previously downloaded

6. Click “Restore”

7. Once you click “Restore”, it will ask for password to proceed. Enter your password and click OK to continue.

8. If this is the first time you’ve restore the .dmg file to the USB, your Mac system may ask to scan the file, click

“Scan Disk Image” to continue.

Note: If your system didn’t ask to scan the file, then just wait for the restore to complete

9. After clicking “Scan Disk Image”, it will prompt you to enter your password to proceed. Enter your password and

click OK to allow the system to scan the file.

10. Once it finished “Scan Disk Image”, please follow steps 2-3 again to create the USB drive.

11. This is how the USB partition will look like once restore is completed. It has changed from “UNTITLED" to

“EXT2_240G” or whichever is the name of the .dmg file.
