25. Barbados Pancreas Workshop April 29-30, 2015 This was a regional workshop that was geared to familiarize regional surgeons with techniques for pancreatic resections. During this workshop a live operative proctorship in pancreaticoduodenectomy was performed. UWI surgeons successfully completed the first recorded pancreaticoduodenectomy with vein resection and reconstruction in Barbados.
26. Guyana Bariatric Workshop May 21-23, 2015 During this workshop, surgeons in Guyana were tutored in techniques for bariatric operations.

28. Liver Resection Workshop in Barbados June 24-28, 2015
This was a workshop geared toward tutoring regional surgeons in techniques for liver resections. This workshop also involved live operative proctorships in right liver resection.

This workshop was carried out at the General Hospital in Port of Spain over one day. This was a workshop in which Dr. Ning Ma was invited to proctor surgeons in endoscopic techniques for thyroidectomy. A live operative proctorship was also performed.

Inaugural Meeting of the Caribbean Chapter of the January 26, 2017 American Hepatopancreatobiliary Association This landmark meeting marked the inauguration of the Caribbean Chapter of the AHPBA – a body of HPB surgeons for the Americas. Several experts in HPB diseases from the Caribbean, Canada and the USA held a symposium to update members on andvances in HPB diseases.

Annual Symposium Oct 1, 2017 This educational symposium was aimed at a group of sub-specialty trained oncologists in active practice in the Caribbean. Public Service 1. UWI / Belize Medical Association Kidney Outreach Programme 2009 - 2010
This is a charity service organized by the Belize Medical & Dental Association (BMDA). Over a period of five days, usually in October, patients with renal failure were evaluated and had access operations performed at the Karl Heusner Hospital in Belize City. 9. Barbados Pancreas Workshop April 29, 2015
At this workshop, local surgeons were proctored in live pancreatic surgery techniques at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Barbados. Two Whipple’s pancreaticoduodenectomies were scheduled for live demonstrations.

Queen Elizabeth Hospital Surgical Workshop (Liver Resections) June 24-27, 2015 At this workshop, local surgeons were proctored in techniques for liver resection during liver operations at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Barbados on June 24-27, 2015. There was one liver resection scheduled for a live OR demonstration.
11. American College of Surgeons’ Annual Clinical Conference – Chicago Oct. 4-8, 2015
This is the annual scientific meeting for the prestigious American College of Surgeons. As a guest panelist for the International Educational Session it was required to comment on nine presentations by international surgeons.
