Local Authorities in Cyprus

•The republic of Cyprus is composed of Districts, Municipalities and Communities. •No regions exist in Cyprus•6 Districts•39 Municipalities (in urban and touristic centres) the 30 are under the government controlled area•478 Communities (in rural areas) the 350 are under the government controlled area. •Local governments in Cyprus have tax revenue from own-source taxes and fees they collect themselves. The Council of Ministers and the House of Representatives are responsible for the approval of the municipalities and communities’ budgets and they received public support through annual state grant.•Local authorities in European countries have a wider range of competencies compared to those in Cyprus, covering areas such as social policy, education, health, public transport and even business enterprising.

Infrastructure for EV charging

The electric vehicle charging stations have been installed in 15 selected points in public places covering the whole of Cyprus, in order to serve the electric vehicle owner to drive the electric car throughout Cyprus . EAC has installed eight (8) charging stations in Nicosia Area, 2 in Limassol, 1in Platres , 1 in Larnaca , 1 in Protaras, 1 in Paphos and 1in Polis Chrysochous.
