PRIORITY COMMODITIES (with export potential)
Durian•Southern Mindanao ranks first in area planted to durian with 5,446 ha or 53% and contributed 17% of the national production with 11,614 mt.•The per capita consumption in the region is 814 g per year with the total regional population of 4,275,985 against the national per capita consumption of 330g to 440g.
PRIORITY COMMODITIES(with export potential)
Banana (1.855 tons production in 2009)•Banana is the leading fruit grown in the Philippines and a consistent top dollar earner. Davao Region is known as the top producer which grown extensively in the province of Davao del Norte.
•The prospect of Philippine bananas in the domestic and foreign market such as European Union, USA, Japan, Russia, China and Canada is still promising.
•Higher demand for cavendish, lakatan and saba varieties for catsup and banana chips in foreign markets propelled the government's effort to further improve its production in the countries.

Coffee•Philippines has two most popular varieties of coffee, the arabica and robusta and other varieties such as excelsa and liberica.
•It is estimated that around 300,000 Filipinos depend on the coffee industry.
•In the Davao Region, Compostela Valley Province registered the greatest contribution to the region's total coffee production.

Rubber•Rubber grows best in tropical places like the Philippines. It grows in almost all types of soil provided the drainage is adequate.
•Most of the rubber produced in the country is absorbed by the tire an footwear industries.
•Among the land areas of the Davao Region, the province of Compostela Valley registered the largest area planted of rubber.
•The county's export destinations include China, Taiwan, Malaysia, & Singapore.

Mango•Production increased by 8.56 per cent, 918,040 metric tons output.
•Being the country’s national fruit, mango is considered the third most important fruit crop of the country.
•Areas for investment include processing plants for puree, juice, dried, mangoes, hot water treatment and vapor heat treatment facilities and post-harvest facilities.
•In Davao Region, it is widely produced in Davao del Sur. Major destinations are Hongkong and Japan and other existing markets such as USA, Singapore, Germany, Malaysia, New Zealand and Canada.

Vegetable (40mt daily production capacity)
•Davao Region is most suitable for sustained productions of vegetables as it does not experience typhoons and has rich fertile volcanic soil and continuous access to shipping ports.
•These commodities have a niche in the local and foreign markets.
•Priority commodities such as habitchuelas, banana blossom, cauliflower, kangkong, lettuce, pechay, ampalaya, siringbeans, gourd, okra, squash fruit, ginger, pepper, carrots, gabi, raddish and potato.
