Article 12 of the Kyoto Protocol explains that CDM has been established for the purpose of assisting Developing Countries in Achieving Sustainable Development and helping Annex-I parties meet their emission target.

The Sustainable Development Criteria for CDM projects in EGYPT include the following aspects:

A-Conformity to political and legal dispositions

B-Contribution to :1- Technology Autonomy.2- Sustainable use of Natural Resources .

CDM Projects in CDM Projects in EgyptEgypt

Promotion of Egyptian CDM Projects among the International Investment Community is one of the priorities of the Egyptian CDM-DNA.

The process of Project Evaluation until delivering the Final Approval Letter to the project promoter by the DNA in EGYPT takes no more than 2 months.

There are plenty of CDM projects in different sectors:

- Energy and Industrial Processes (Fuel Switching, Energy efficiency , Cogeneration , Nitric Acid factories, Cement factories ….).- Electricity (Wind Farms, Solar Energy,…).
