/ eə /The glide begins near the close-mid front position and moves in the direction of / ə /. The tip of the tongue is touching or nearly touching the lower front teeth. The lips are neutral.

/ ʊə /The glide begins between the half close and back position and moves in the direction of / ə /. The lips are weakly rounded for the first element and neutrally spread for the second.

CLOSING DIPHTHONGS

/ eɪ /The glide begins near the close-mid front position and moves in the direction of / ɪ /, with a slight closing movement of the lower jaw. The lips are spread.
