Board Policy AE Local
Board Policy AE Local provides the overview of the District’s goals, which are aligned with the State’s objectives and goals outlined in the Texas Education Code. The District’s strategic goals are based on the Board’s goals and appear in the District Improvement Plan.
11 State Objectives• Objective 1: Parents will be full partners with educators in the
education of their children (Parents as Partners).• Objective 2: Students will be encouraged and challenged to meet
their full educational potential (High Expectations).• Objective 3: Through enhanced dropout prevention efforts, all
students will remain in school until they obtain a high school diploma (High School Completion).

State Objectives• Objective 4: A well-balanced and appropriate curriculum will be
provided to all students. Through that curriculum, students will be prepared to succeed in a variety of postsecondary activities, including employment and enrollment in institutions of higher education (Rigorous and aligned curriculum) .
• Objective 5: Educators will prepare students to be thoughtful, active citizens who have an appreciation for the basic values of our state and national heritage and who can understand and productively function in a free enterprise society (Productive citizens).

District Vision Statement
CISD is a learning community united in its commitment to ensuring all students graduate with confidence and competence. The schools and communities work together to provide performance standards that can be applied to the real world. This is achieved through the implementation of quality instruction, operations, and leadership.

The mission of the Conroe Independent School District is to ensure that all children have access to a quality education that enables them to achieve their potential and fully participate now and in the future in the social, economic, and educational opportunities of our community, state, and nation.

1. CISD will be an exemplary District.2. To ensure that all students master rigorous academic
standards that prepare them for higher education and post-high school experiences through a challenging curriculum, effective instruction, and state and national assessments.
3. To continue closing the achievement gap between minority, special education, economically disadvantaged, limited English proficient, at-risk, and other students.

CISD will maintain efficient and effective fiscal management of resources and operations to maximize learning for all students.

CISD will employ, develop, and retain highly qualified staff to maximize learning for all students.

CISD will work jointly with parents and the community to maximize learning for all students through collaborative partnerships and unity of purpose.
