Standing Seam Metal Roofing

Why A Double Lock Standing Seam Roof Is Superior To a Snap Lock

Standing Seam Roof

• The Mechanical Seam Panel (Double Lock Panel) is the most durable and water tight, wind resistant and structurally sound standing seam roof system on the market.

• It comes in any width between 9 1/2" and 19 1/2" with a 1" and 1.5” standing seam and two levels of water tightness. The single lock crimps the top panel's leg over, creating a water-tight seal.

• The double lock seam is clamped together with a machine, creating an extra tight seal to keep out water and withstand extreme wind loads.

• The panels span up to 4.5 ft with 24 gauge metal, and up to 5 ft with 22 gauge metal, while maintaining waterproof integrity.

DOUBLE LOCKING

VS. SNAPPING TOGETHER

•Many times, these panels are sold to roofers from local metal supply stores. The majority of the time the metal is a lighter 26 gauge and these panels are not custom fabricated on site. Be wary of different paint finishes that can become chalky and fade within the first five years of installation.
