Downloading
Videos for your Presentation NEW TOOL UPDATE
Have you ever wanted to use a YouTube video in your PowerPoint or
Keynote presentation, but couldn’t figure out how to download it?
Open a Browser
I have only tired this with Safari and Firefox, but it
should work on other browsers.
Step 1
Step 2 Open the YouTube
page with the video you want to
download.
Step 3 Wait for the video to start playing. It’s not
necessary for the video to completely
download.
Step 4 In the URL box at the top of the page, type the letter “pwn” to the
right of the period in “www.”

Step 5 Hit return or search. The address will automatically take you to a
site called deturl.com
The URL of the YouTube video will automatically
load in the form.
Step 6 Click on one of the sites listed on the
Deturl.com site list.
I recommend using “Dirpy.” I rarely have an issue using their downloading tool
Step 7 Move to the
“Record Video” section.
Step 8 Select one of the player
and quality options. Your video will then begin
downloading.
Step 9 To insert the video into your presentation slide, choose the “insert” dropdown and
click on “Movie.”
Find the newly renamed video file on your computer
and “choose” it.
PowerPoint or Keynote will then prompt you to choose to play the video
when clicked or automatically.
Congratulations! Your video is now inserted into your
presentation and ready to view without leaving your presentation deck..
Note: You can also use the same tool for
download mp3 files of the same video.
Just hit the “record” button under the “Record Audio”
section of Dirpy Studio.
If you only need a shorter segment of the audio, you can enter the start and end times in the boxes provided.
If you need any help your videos or with your presentation, just email or give me a call. I’m happy to review
what you’ve done and give you some suggestions or provide training to
help you take full advantage of all the tools and resources that PowerPoint
and Keynote have to offer.
Thank You
