SUMMARY SECTION STRUCTURE #6: STORY-‐TELLING (ENTREPRENEUR)
Don Washington Automotive Professional: Account Manager, Sales Manager, Product Specialist, Customer Relationship Manager [107 CHARACTERS]
Summary [1952 CHARACTERS] Bringing over 15 years of experience in automotive consulting, account development, and sales and dealership management, I have been exposed to just about everything in this industry—and continue my passion for this field. I started my career as a sales rep, but the truth is I got hooked much earlier, traveling with my dad, a salesman, to local car dealerships. He made me see that cars and car shopping are fun: that basic idea has kept me focused throughout my career. This "fun" energy is really what propelled me to open Green Rides of Boston. I truly wanted a different approach to the all-‐too-‐often model that was either too sterile and boring, or too greedy—seeing customers strictly as dollar signs. My mission was to dismantle that negative image by placing customers at the core focus of the business. I emphasized a consultative approach and stuck to that, knowing that it would build trust, and it did. My closing rate was 80% for visiting customers. Another goal with Green Rides was to stay on the forefront of promoting green technology and green driving habits. The fact that this industry is always changing is largely what makes it so exciting. Helping customers locate matches for specific tastes and needs, I launched a coexisting business, Washington Car Consultants. I advised, researched, located, and delivered cars to clients using a nationwide network to find ideal matches through customized searches. Before Green Rides, my career involved six years in account development at GMAC, where I was trusted to rebuild faltering relationships with dealerships to propel growth in specific market segments. I also worked as enterprise account manager for a large account with IBM, growing the account from $500K quarterly to $90M+ annually. There is no reason any of us has to lose the magic and adventure we experienced when we were young. I'm glad I found an industry that keeps me feeling the same excitement I did as a kid.

EXPERIENCE SECTION #6: DON WASHINGTON (see Summary on page 11)
Experience PRESIDENT & OWNER March 2010 – Present Green Rides of Boston Launching and building Green Rides from the ground up was a huge undertaking and one of my proudest achievements. I directed the full spectrum of sales and operations: consulting, vehicle research, sales closing, financing, customer support, and inventory/logistics management. I also hired and trained our office manager, who is my lifeline to sanity at times. Even during the recent recession, our sales remained strong. We achieved $3.28 million in overall sales within three years—and are on target to hit $2.27 million in 2013 projected sales. YOY growth from 2011 to 2012 landed at 135%. As a small, local dealership with staff of just two, we are proud of this record. It's been exciting to be a participant in promoting the green revolution that is happening within the automotive industry. To stay abreast, I've attended conferences including the Automotive News Green Car Conference 2012 in Detroit, where I networked with industry professionals and sampled diverse products for future release. PRESIDENT & OWNER January 2010 – Present Washington Car Consultants Washington Car Consultants is a co-‐existing, complementary business of Green Rides of Boston, adding up to about 30% of total sales. Rather than limiting customers to the inventory at the dealership, this business provides customers with a nationwide network: I hand-‐pick selections for customers and consult closely with them on their options to inform smart decisions. As a consultant, I advise and help each customer locate matches based on an extensive list of their criteria related to comfort, fuel efficiency, reliability, vehicle history, design, and practicality. Once a car has been selected and approved by the customer, I handle all the logistics of purchasing, vehicle condition inspections, transportation, financing options, all state required paperwork, and delivery. AREA SALES MANAGER January 2003 – April 2009 GMAC The largest contribution I made was rebuilding relationships with GSMs, GMs, and dealer principals/owners who had been frustrated by indifferent service from the previous ASM. I traveled extensively to dealerships across the Northeast. Another win helping us leap forward was expanding our dealer partner network. I accumulated enough dealer partners to justify that each territory be assigned its own ASM. An example of this growth was expanding contracts 300% in the Providence territory, which jumped from 6 producing dealers to 28 high-‐performing partners. We also increased the number of dealer partners by 340% in the Western Massachusetts territory from 12 producing dealers to 41.
RWA E-‐Summit: Writing LinkedIn Profiles © 2013 Louise Kursmark & Wendy Enelow • Page 24
As area sales manager, I hit a 20% ranking every year. I was consistently at the top of contracts generated during dealership sales events centering on customer pre-‐approvals. I know dealers valued the way I interacted with customers to ensure fluidity even with large numbers of attendees. Customer interaction is most likely my strongest asset. ENTERPRISE ACCOUNT MANAGER 1998 – 2002 IBM I was hired as sales rep for large corporate accounts, then promoted to telecom segment as senior account manager. Our largest team victory was growing the Verizon account from $500,000 per quarter to $90+ million annually. I attribute this to our initiative to redirect our sales from a “hunt” mentality to a process focused on nurturing long-‐term relationships. Here are some recognitions I received: • E-‐Commerce Global Award (Q3 2001) • Regional Account Manager of Quarter (Q4 2000) • Circle of Excellence Winner 2000 (Top 10% of Sales Force) • Regional Sales Rep of Quarter (Q1 1998) • Award Trips to Mexico and Italy

COMPLETE LINKEDIN PROFILES: Louise Kursmark & Wendy Enelow On the following pages you will find the complete LinkedIn profiles for both of us. Notice the differences in tone, style, content, and level of detail – each is unique and reflects the style and personality of each of us. An important point about Wendy’s profile: Wendy wrote this profile giving careful thought to keywords and SEO. Notice how she has worked keywords into each section and repeated keywords both within sections and between sections. As you write your own LinkedIn profile, you can use bits and pieces and great ideas from all of the different profiles that you view. Just make sure that your profile reflects you – and each client’s profile reflects that individual client. If the profile seems “canned” or inauthentic, it will produce exactly the opposite effect that you (and your clients) desire. Be creative and have fun!

20 people have recommended Louise
"Louise Kursmark is a career thought leader and one of the top resume experts in the career industry. I've had
the pleasure of working with Louise in several capacities. We teamed up on teleseminars and she was
exceptional in zeroing in on top priorities, providing rich content, and making everything run smoothly. Plus,
as co-organizer / planner of the Career Thought Leaders conference, Louise served as key point of contact for
ALL of the presenters (including me). Everything was kept on point, on time, and running smoothly. I heard
high praise from many conference attendees. If you need a writer who is clear, to-the-point, and focuses on
results, call Louise. Need a career-focused teleseminar or boot camp run? Call Louise. She is a person who
makes things happen."

to help me. Thank you, Louise!"
— Jack Mulcahy, ACRW; Resume Writer, Resume Writer, Jack Mulcahy Resume Services, was withanother company when working with Louise at Resume Writing Academy
"What could I possibly learn at a day-long resume writing workshop? Quite a lot! I was immediately able to
apply the information Louise shared regarding resume structure and format, marketing strategy, and drawing
information from students to help them articulate their experiences. As a speaker, Louise was well prepared,
she engaged and encouraged audience participation, and kept on-time and on-task. Some of the best
professional development money I have spent in a long time. I highly recommend taking a resume workshop
with Louise to any career services professional!"
— Ronald Hayes, Career Development Manager, The Culinary Institute of America, was with anothercompany when working with Louise at Resume Writing Academy
"You recall the saying, "You can't teach an old dog new tricks". Not true! After being a professional resume
writer for 14 years, I had so much to learn from Louise (and Wendy) via the Resume Writing Academy. This
old dog is grateful. I look forward to learning more from Louise in the future."
— Mark Bartz, was Louise's client

"I’ve heard Louise Kursmark speak at Northeastern University and thought it was the best seminar I’ve
attended since I’ve worked in career development. I recall the presence Louise had when speaking to a
diverse group of career developers, and, of course, her command of résumé writing. I hope to have the
opportunity to hear her speak again, whether she discusses résumé writing, LinkedIn profiles, interviewing
techniques, or other topics. If you’re thinking of attending one of Louise’s seminars or hiring a career
development professional to speak to your organization, I highly recommend her."

— Bob McIntosh, CPRW, MBTI, was Louise's client
"As Louise indicates in her profile, she wears many hats which by itself is no mean feat. What she doesn't say
is the degree of excellence that she brings to those "hats" which is an even tougher feat. She has always
impressed me on many levels, not the least of which is her ability to bring to her clients not just her expertise
but as or more importantly, the ability to deliver that knowledge in a sound, sensible and practical way every
single time. As the saying goes: Pros make what they do look easy."
— Dave Opton, Founder & CEO, ExecuNet, was with another company when working with Louise at BestImpression Career Services, Inc.
"I've worked with Louise in a number of capacities over more than a decade. A highlight would have to be
our collaboration that won her a "Best of..." at our state's website design competition ... although the number
of creative projects we've worked on together are too many to list. Louise has served the people I've sent her
way for career advice and is always the consummate professional. I look forward to my continued business
interactions with Louise well in to the future and recommend that you do the same."
— Kevin Skarritt, was Louise's client
"I have been an industry leader in the employment and career field since 1989 and have read over 500 books
in this genre. Without question, I would rank Louise's books and industry contributions as, not only valuable
to the enhanced professionalism of our industry, but as a benchmark for all of us to aspire to."
— Jay Block (11K+), Best selling Author, The Jay Block Companies, was with another company whenworking with Louise at Best Impression Career Services, Inc.
"I attended a webinar on executive resumes by Louise that increased my skills immensely. After writing
resumes for well over a decade, I had a high level of confidence in my work. However, I was not as sure of
myself when it came to executives. Let's just say that I was humbled by what I didn't know. The training was
chock full of substance with smooth and articulate delivery. I will eagerly look forward to her future
programming."
— Sharon Wiatt Jones, was Louise's client
"In every industry there are clear leaders, and within the resume industry, Louise is widely known and highly
regarded as both an author and one of the top executive resume writing professionals. I have met Louise at
several national conferences, in some cases I attended seminars she taught, and I have had the opportunity to
learn more about her approach to her craft. I have also bought and read several of her books, and she is head
and shoulders above the crowd. If I were throwing in the towel with my business to join the corporate world,
Louise is most likely the writer I would hire. On top of all that, she is exceedingly friendly and generous in
giving her time to help others in our field."
— Grant Cooper, Certified Resume Writer, CareerPro Resume Svc, LLC, was with another company whenworking with Louise at Best Impression Career Services, Inc.

President at Enelow Enterprises, Inc.September 1982 - Present (30 years 6 months)FOUNDED AND BUILT ONE OF THE WORLD’S MOST SUCCESSFUL AND WELL-RESPECTEDRESUME WRITING FIRMS that I still own 30+ years later.
Writing is what I call my “occupational instinct.” It’s what is in my soul and what I was destined to do. Ididn’t expect to grow up to be an executive resume writer but that’s precisely where my career path took meat the very young age of only 22.
Page3
The first resume I ever wrote was for the economic minister of Nairobi, Kenya. I remember thinking tomyself that I was totally unqualified to do the resume and spent over a week working on it. He loved it and Iwas hooked! Thousands and thousands of resumes later, I still love it.
RESUME WRITING IS SO MUCH “MORE” THAN MOST PEOPLE THINK. It’s all about strategy, positioning, and the power of words to create perception of “who” a job seeker is in a manner that gives thema competitive edge. It’s about how to creatively integrate keywords, project highlights, achievements, responsibilities, and everything else that makes that job seeker unique and a valued asset.
After so many years, I’ve WRITTEN FOR JUST ABOUT EVERY INDUSTRY AND PROFESSIONIMAGINABLE. Want to talk about arbitrage and currency hedging? Supply chain management and ILS?Sales channels and product launches? IPOs, M&As, and LBOs? CIOs, CTOs, & Software Engineers? I havewritten for people in more than 100 industries and, although not a prerequisite to expert resume writing, it isdefinitely an added bonus.
OUR WRITING SERVICES INCLUDE executive resumes, cover letters, e-notes, LinkedIn profiles, bios, websites, and other career communications. OUR COACHING SERVICES include career coaching, interviewing training, and job search coaching/support. All of our services are targeted to professional, managerial, and executive candidates.
