The communication box

Students were very enthusiastic and happy to be given the opportunity to be decision

makers.

At the end of the session, they were able to communicate

freely. They felt that they were members of a comprehensive

and tolerant family.

The writing phase

Brainstorm about your own stories: Types of the stories i.e. adventure story, moral story, horror story, love story, etc.

Complete your story web Each student in the group should be assigned one part to

write. (Homework) Next session, each group will present their story in an

unordered way. Their classmates should be able to order the story and guess its theme, its problem, and its solution.

Then, the groups will exchange their drafts, edit them in terms of punctuation, grammar (sequencing of tenses), and sentence fragments.

Finally, the students will vote for the best story. All the stories will be published (i.e. redrafted and written in a storybook format) and put in the class library. The best story will be distinguished by a star.

Takeaway Messages● A teacher’s job does not start when his/her teaching hours begin.

Teaching is a 24/7 job.

● What I have learnt so far is to put myself in the shoes of my learners while

I am planning my lessons to design enjoyable tasks and to let my students feel that they are members of the same

family; we learn from each other and through helping each other.
