What are the Barriers for Older People to remain in the Labor Market longer?

3 main obstacles (approval of more than 2/3 of the EU population):

limited opportunities to reduce working hours gradually (72 %);exclusion of older workers in training at workplace (71 %);employers' negative attitude towards older workers (70 %).

3 main obstacles (approval of more than half of the EU population):

lack of skills required in the modern workplace (62 %);pension and tax system does not encourage older people to continue working life (59 %);Workplaces are not adapted for needs of older people (57 %).

• In Lithuania 69/27 % residents believe that their residence environment is / is not designed for older people's needs.

• EU-27 averages are similar - 65/29 %

Positive and Negative Sides of Elderly Caring in Lithuania

Possibilities:

•Elderly care home;

•Information in internet;

•Volunteers help;

•Specialized geriatric services;

•Day centres.

Main problems•Big price;

•There is no main database or website providing all information in one place;

•Not enough volunteers;

•Not enouhg places where elderly could get specialized geriatric services;

•Provided not in all municipalities of Lithuania.
