The Ultimate Filling Machine

Enhances tactile feedback/control of Backfill.Eliminates fatiguing manual action.Standard handpiece holders.

• Consistent flow precludes voids.• Advanced insulation keeps Extruder cool.• Material heats quickly and shuts-off automatically.• Handpiece powers unit on, begins heating, & starts extrusion.• 2 speeds on handpiece.

Pencil Grip Extruder

Handpiece Shields• Minimize autoclaving downtime.• Patent-pending shield technology. • Two shields with each handpiece.• Additional shields may be ordered.• Line-up index markings & slide on

handpiece until a “click” is felt.• Engineered for optimal weight, shape &

size. • Aluminum optimizes weight & durability.

xtruder Cartridges

• Minimize possibility for cross-contamination.

• No more clean-up.• Pre-bent cartridges.• 4mm longer effective working length.• Offered in 20, 23 & 25 gauge.• Locknut denotes material (black-GP, gray-

RealSeal).• Silicone ball denotes gauge.

VisibilityThe Extruder’s small

Perfect 3-D Obturation With GP

or • Engineered for gutta percha or RealSeal.• Separate settings for each material.• Significantly reduces coronal & apical leakage.

System B Handpiece

•Time-out assists new users and avoids overheating.•Automatic timer for separation burst.•Digital circuitry for consistent viscosity.•Easy-to-reach button emits tone when activated.•LED on handpiece illuminates when in use.

Autofit Heat Pluggers

Autofit pluggers replicate the canal shape &

maximize condensation forces to move material

Into the entire canal--including lateral canals--to

ensure a complete fill.

• Instant heat for immediate use & rapid cooling for safety.

• Pluggers give thermostatic control to avoid overheating.

• New quick-insert & release tip • New pluggers fit original System B. • .04 taper/40% smaller tip get’s where

you’ve never gone before.

Autofit Heat Pluggers

Additional Tips

• Four functions in 1 footprint.• New quick insert/release hot pulp test tip. • Straight-line, back-action & 30° cautery tips.

Controls and Screen• One-touch functions for Downpack,

Backfill, Cautery & Hot Pulp Testing. • Adjustable presets.

• Temperature indicator.• Auto shut-off.

• The temperature at the tip of the plugger is continuously monitored.

• Adjustable volume/sound modes.

Quality

• Medical-grade connections ensure longevity & accuracy.

• 1-year warranty covering parts & labor.

Step one• Choose the System-B Plugger that

matches the gutta percha cone fit in the canal.

• Place a rubber stop on the plugger and prefit the plugger to its binding point in the canal (usually 5-7 mm short of length).

• Adjust stop to highest reference point and remove plugger.

• Pluggers are dead-soft stainless steel and can be bent to follow canal curvature.

Step Two• Dry the canal.• Cut the gutta percha cone 1/2 mm

short. • Cement the cone in the canal.

Step Three• Sear the cone off at the

orifice with the tip of the pre-heated System-B Plugger and remove.

Step Four• Use the larger end of the Buchanan

Hand Plugger to compact the softened gutta percha at the orifice.

Step Five• Push the cold System-B

Plugger against the gutta percha.

• Activate the button and drive the heated plugger smoothly through the gutta percha to within3-4mm of the binding point.

• Release switch.

Step Six

• Maintain firm apical pressure for a 10-second “sustained push” to take up any shrinkage that might occur upon cooling of the apical mass of gutta percha.

• The Buchanan Plugger will slow its apical movement and stop just shy of the binding point. (1mm short)

Step Seven• Maintaining apical pressure,

push the button again for 1 full second.

• Release switch.• Pause for 1 full second, then

quickly withdraw plugger.

Step Eight• After removal of the System-B

Plugger, introduce the small, flexible end of the appropriate Buchanan Hand Plugger.

• With pressure, confirm that the apical mass of gutta percha has not dislodged but has cooled and set.

• The canal is now ready to backfill. If you need a post space, you are done!

Backfill With The Elements Obturation

Unit

Backfill With The Elements Obturation

Unit•The downpack has created an apical seal and filled the lateral canals.

•On the Elements Obturation Unit console, select gutta percha or synthetic gutta percha mode.

Backfill With The Elements Obturation

Unit

•Preheat the unit by pressing the preheat button.

Step One

• Just before inserting the cartridge needle into canal, prime needle by pressing the handpiece switch until filling material is extruded.

Step Two

• Insert the Extruder needle into the canal until it makes contact with the apical plug.

• Hold the needle lightly in position for 5 seconds until it reheats.

Step Three

• Activate the extruder.• After the extruded material fills the backfill space ahead of the needle, the needle will “bump

back.”• With the tactile pencil grip, and the motor-driven extrusion, a light touch is easily maintained,

thereby holding backpressure on the extruding material and eliminating void creation.

Step Four

• Extrude filling material to the orifice level.

Step Five

• After removing extruder, use a Buchanan Hand Plugger to condense the gutta percha at the orifice level.

Conclusions: Warm lateral condensation using the System B instrument results in denser gutta percha fills by weight when compared with standard cold lateral condensation.

Conclusions: System B operates within a safe heat range and does not approach an increase of 10° Celsius at any thermocouple level on the external root surface.
