• The endocrine system regulates the body by forming or giving off hormones into the bloodstream.

• The endocrine system also controls reproduction, growth, tissue function, mood, and your metabolism.

• The endocrine system works with the nervous system by promoting normal development of the nervous system.

• The endocrine system also works with the circulatory system by promoting blood vessel development and blood pressure control.

• The endocrine system produces hormones important to the reproductive system.

Pituitary Gland • The pituitary gland is attached to the

hypothalamus of the brain. • The pituitary gland hormone affects a large

range of body activities. This range reaches from growth to reproduction.
