number of sacrifices. For young dancers, most days are composed of skating, school and homework. Competitive dancers need to practice for five to six hours every day. Dancers usually skate early in the morning, so they always need to go to bed early. A dancer who does not get enough sleep will not perform well.

Dancers must pay for lessons, ice time and costumes, which can be thousands of dollars. This makes the sport very expensive. Ice dancing is also difficult on the body.
