As market demand evolves and materials change, Arclin constantly strives to evolve, too, the performance of its concrete forming products. We work to make them stronger. To ensure they give a smooth and clean finish on any type of concrete mix. And to make sure they stand up to real-world conditions and demand.
Arclin’s focus on continuous improvement has led to an evolution in the EPIC® suite of concrete forming overlays with the development of our groundbreaking MD3000 resin. This resin more uniformly saturates the overlay base sheet than traditional resins, strengthening internal bonds and providing greater durability even when used on high-alkaline concrete mixes.
Arclin has also worked to combine the strengths of various types of wood fibers to produce base papers that offer improved performance in the field, even in wet and harsh conditions. These papers allow for uniform resin distribution, more consistency on the job site and easier release without separation or delamination.
Talk to the experts at Arclin or to your preferred panel manufacturer or distributor to determine the right EPIC® overlay for your next job.
EPIC® Enhanced Performance Overlays for Concrete Forming
What to KnowTo select the right EPIC®
overlay and ensure the best results, you’ll need to
determine:
Concrete mix design water/cement ratios, chemical admixtures, fly ash, SCC mixes
Surface requirements coated concrete, exposed, architectural finish, matte,
gloss, etc.
Forming systems to be used loose, jobsite built, gang
forms, engineered systems
Reuse requirements based on all of the above,
together we’ll determine the realistic and achievable
reuse capacities

1. Concrete finish affected by various factors such as panel reuses, job site cleaning & handling practices, and type of press finish used during panel manufacturing (e.g., polished chrome platen, aluminum caul, etc.). HDO, HAO, MCFO and CCFO products only.
2. Loose panel forming, gang forms and engineered forming systems will affect panel selection.3. Overlay performance and attributes are significantly affected by the choice of substrate. Rough veneer will transfer through all overlays. If
architectural finishes are required, appropriate “mock-up” pours are critical to ensure correct panel selection.4. The number of reuses will be affected by panel substrate quality, concrete mix designs, construction/jobsite techniques and practices, form
release type, and by the forming system used (loose forms, gang forms, engineered systems, etc.).
One ArclinResins, surface overlays and more — Arclin is a leader in engineering chemistry-based applications for the building, design, agriculture and energy industries.
Design. Build. Grow.
Every finish, every application… ever green.
Arclin’s EPIC® suite of concrete forming overlays is E-Gen® designated because they meet a host of criteria for sustainability:
• EPIC® overlays extend panel life up to 20 times or more than non-overlaid panels — significantly reducing jobsite waste
• These strong and durable overlays create a variety of concrete finish options and are manufactured using sustainably harvested trees for substrate materials
• May contribute to LEED Credits 2.1 and 2.2 for waste reduction and MR Credits 3.1 and 3.2 for material re-use
• Available with FSC® chain-of-custody certified papers

The Cost of Doing it Right.
Labor is the biggest expense associated with concrete forming. Consider, then, the importance of getting it right the first time. Used properly, EPIC® overlays ensure a quality surface and save labor and material costs by creating a quality surface and enabling significant panel reuse.
