Introduction to the Computing Service Survey 2008 The CS User Survey was carried out between May 28th and June 12th 2008. All researchers, faculty, fellows and staff of the EUI received an e-mail asking them to follow a URL link and complete the online survey which was formulated using the software QuestionPro. Anonymity was guaranteed. Respondents were asked to indicate their department, their status (researcher,professor, staff, etc) and their length of stay at the EUI. Computing Service staff was requested not to participate in the survey. The survey was sent to 1296 registered members of the EUI. By its end date 428 users had opened the link,301 started the survey and 237 respondents had fully completed the survey. Respondents were asked to answer a series of questions (arranged in sections) indicating on a scale: 1) the importance to them of some aspect of the CS services 2) their satisfaction with that aspect of the CS services. The sections were: - Users’ work platform - Non-EUI standard operating system - Site Office support - Support during closure - Researcher facilities and services - EUI Network - EUI Email - Security - Communication - Services and facilities - Continuity of EUI Computing services’ facilities
