How to Use Evernote

(Tutorial Part 2/2)

Part 3. How to Create a Note

Type: Ordinary Note

Click New Note (or CTRL+N)

start writing a new note here

An untitled note will appear

and this blank writing window will open

New texts can be written here

Start by creating a title for the note

Take note that whatever you write

on the blank window will also

appear on the sidebar

Start writing an activity on the window

Highlight the texts

to make changes to them

Change font style to Trebuchet MS

Change font size to 16

Make the text bold

Make the text italic

Make the text underlined

Change the font color to dark blue

The texts should look like this

Add a bullet before the texts

Change the bullet to a number

Change number to a check box

Allign the text to the center

The texts should look like this

Click to insert a table

Set-up a dimension for the table

Create a 2 x 2 -sized table

The table should look like this

Click the clip to add an attachment

A dialog box will open

Choose a location and a folder

where to pick up the attachment

Choose an image to attach

Click the Open button to upload it

The image will be inserted into the note

Click the mic icon to add an audio

The recording toolbar will appear below

Record your voice or another audio

Click the button to choose a sharing option

Send the note via email

Send through social media

Post to Facebook

Post to Twitter

Or post to LinkedIn

Or copy Note URL to clipboard

Make a reminder to yourself by

clicking the alarm clock icon

Add a date when to set the reminder

It will appear then on the sidebar

And you will be reminded via email

Type: Ink Note

Click New Ink Note

A cute pale pink paper will open

Let’s check the writing toolbar first

Element 1: Pencil

Element 2: Pen

Element 3: Knife

Element 4: Different Ink Thickness

Element 5: Ink Color

Element 6: Undo button

Element 7: Redo button

Sample 1: pencil + ink + blue

Sample 1: pencil + ink

Explore and change the ink thickness

These are different 5 combinations

of pencil + varying the ink thickness

And it is really hard writing here, right?

Sample 2: pen + ink + purple

These are 6 of the possible combinations

What if you want to erase the text?

Click the box and then

Click it anywhere on the texts

A box will appear on the text

Click delete on your keyboard

The text will then be erased

The text will then be erased

Type: Audio Note

Click Audio Note

This window will open

It similar to a regular note’s window

but with a recording toolbar above it

Increase the volume by dragging

the bar on the volume control

Click the Record button to start recording

Recording starts when the timer starts

You can click Cancel any

time to stop recording

Write a Title for the audio note

Create a (short) note for the audio

Click Save to stop recording

and to save a copy of the audio note

A copy of the audio note is created

Click Cancel to remove the recorder

A mini-player will remain on the note

Click the Play button to start listening

Click the Pause button to temporarily stop it from playing

Take note that at the sidebar,

a speaker icon is attached to the

note to remind you that it’s an audio note
