The EraOr what was it actually like in those days?

By the mid-fifties, both the United States and Europe were finally experiencing a sustainable economic recovery. This upswing also influenced Jaguar’s company policy. In order to use this upswing efficiently, the company introduced the XK 150 to the market in 1957. This model was the third and became the last configuration level of the successful XK series. Jaguar was constructing the model up to 1961 and then they replaced it by the E series (total production period of the XK series were 14 years). In comparison to the XK 140, only few, but significant changes were made in the transition to the XK 150. For instance, the new model got a one-piece wind-shield, wind-up windows in the doors, fenders (running horizontally), an extended bodywork, a larger radiator grille and disk brakes at all four wheels. Jaguar promoted the vehicle with the slogan: “The fastest production sports car in the world.” The slogan referred to the XK series’ five victories at Le Mans from 1951 to 1957! 1,300 vehicles of the OTS version (open two-seater) were constructed.

The ConditionOr how it really is. Original, given a facelift or fully restored?

The XK spent most of its lifetime in the United States and returned to Europe only a few years ago. There, the vehicle was extensively restored. The vehicle has an elegant design due to its color combination of an exterior dark blue and an interior red leather design. The vehicle is in very good condition as regards visual and technical represen-tation.

The UseOr what else is there to display?

While the XK 150 truly inherited sports car genes, it also received features of Grand Tourismo models. The vehicle does not only provide a sporty driving pleasure, it likewise offers comfortable suspension and seats, which seduce the driver to make relaxed tours. The vehicle invites its owner to pleasant rides along the countryside on a sunny, beautiful day. Even today, it is possible to change the gears while enjoying its athletic qualities. However, it is advisable not to completely use the power of the long-stroke engine in order to secure a long lifespan. In its day, the XK series had won the most important sporty competitions such as among other things Le Mans 24 Hours Race (five times!).
