Expressing future

WILL

We use “will” to make predictions.

Affirmative:

Sleeping Beauty will wake up soon.

Question:

Will the wolf eat Little Red Riding Hood?

Negative:

The glass shoe won’t fit Cinderella’s sister’s foot.

BE GOING TO

We use “ be going to”:

to talk about plans.

Snow White’s going to bite the poisonous apple.

But she isn’t going to die because….

The prince is going to kiss her and wake her up.

Present continuousWe have already study this tense to express present actions.

For example…

They’re flying on a carpet.

But we can also use it to express future actions when they are fixed and planned. For example, schedules, meetings, flights…

ES UN HECHO, NO UNA INTENCIÓN

The concert is starting at 10 p.m.

I’m flying to Paris tomorrow.

We use the same time expressions as with “be going to”:Tomorrow, tonight, next week, next month, …

NOW…LET’S PRACTISE.
