SITUATION
Your parents are both working but their income could barely
make both ends meet. You and your twin sister learned in
your T.L.E. class how to bake and make fashion jewelry.
You and your twin sister/brother are both in high school and
the youngest is in grade 4. You want to help argument the
family income so you proposed to your parents to start a
home-based business of baked cookies and fashion
jewelry; and offer this to neighbors, friends and classmates
in school.
Children you all know that me and your mother work but it’s not enough for our needs and wants and we don’t have enough budget.
So, we ask you to be thriftier . Okay?
How can we help mom and dad so we can have additional food and money for our home and for our school requirements?
I know how! We can bake cookies and make fashion jewelries so we can help mom and dad. We can use the knowledge we have from our T.L.E. class and we have the skills. We will buy the materials using our savings from our piggy banks.
How can I help?? Oh, I can buy goods on weekends but please
accompany me.
But first we should tell mom and dad about this.
Okay.
Mom and Dad, we would like to tell you something. We are planning to build a small business. We would like to sell cookies and fashion jewelries during weekends in front of our house and during weekdays, to our classmates and friends, so we can help you for having more income. Don’t worry about the expenses, we will use our savings from our piggy banks. Would you allow us?
Of course! Thank you! Just don’t consume much time on doing the products. Your studies are more important than making money!
They started to make the products…
James and Radyn, together with the help of their mother, baked the cookies.
While Jonah and Darren made the fashion accessories.
For the next two days they sold their products outside their house. It was a Sold – out. Then they made again new products then after finishing it, they studied their lessons and made their homeworks.
In school, they also marketed their products. Their classmates and even their teachers loved their cookies and accessories.
They counted their income and they were
surprised because their capital became its triple
amount. Their parents were so proud of them. Now
they can buy their school requirements without
asking money from their parents. They also gave
most of the income to their parents to have
additional money to buy food and other
necessities. They also continued their business
and became great little entrepreneurs.
