conventions; the script too off ers a tangy twist. Primarily, the short fi lm is a comedy, and the sequences build a satisfying catalyst to augment this genre. However, unlike many standard forms of comedy, there is no punch line. Instead, an evolving atmosphere of humour develops; a multiplication

of laughs. One scene in particular attempts at tickling our laugh-box with the clash of John, a 30ish year old male, and a seductive woman in her late 50s. Delving into the unorthodox score, Fast Love attempts to

rattle audiences by combining the aforementioned quasi-dark visual atmosphere with an equally strange score. Th e team have really wrestled with standard conventions of short fi lms. Th e end result is a reasonably-well shot piece

The short fi lm genre is rarely presented with such a unique fl avour of comedy rolled into one small package. However, bursting onto the scene, Assenav have graced us with hilarious lines and an interesting style questioning the modern conventions of fi lm. At the technological core of the piece is editor James Lloyd. In his brief past, he’s been known to produce material

disrupting our innocent and conventional minds. This time he’s joined by script-writers Alex Erting-Haynes and Jak Cochrane, who have fi red an artillery of fantastic comedic devices. “You never know whether what you’re writing is going to make people laugh, so we just wrote to make ourselves laugh”, explains Alex. This is an ace new production team.
