HYPOTHESIS AND METHODS
• hypothesis A:positive correlation between FDI inward stocks and number of patent applications in V4 region in total
• hypothesis B:positive correlation between FDI inward stocks originated from the 15 most innovative countries (TOP15) and number of patent applications in V4 region
• linear regression and correlation analysis methods

ANALYSIS OF FDI INWARD STOCKS
• FDI increased by 462 % in V4 region in 2000-2010
• higher dynamics during 2004-2007 55 % of absolute change, (24,3 % in 2004)
• the highest relative change - Slovakia 675,3 %
• the biggest share - Poland 41,2 %
• dynamics of FDI from TOP15 similar: • 413,5 % (2000-2010)• 58,5 % (2004-2007)• share of Poland 40,7 %
• TOP15 represent 60 % of all FDI

• rose by 235 % (2000-2010)
• the highest growth – Poland 610 %
• the lowest growth - Hungary 67 %
