Outcomes of FASDPrenatal alcohol exposure (when a mother drinks while pregnant) effects the development of a child physically, mentally and behaviorally.
Physically: slow physical growth, facial abnormalities and small head.
Mentally: brain injury - impairment with memory, attention, language and communication.
Behaviorally: over-activity, reasoning and social skills.

have artistic abilities surpass their age. Moreover, individuals with FASD benefit from arts projects, community theater and
music therapy.
Music assists with…SOCIAL: social skills, interaction and bonding; socialization and communication.MENTAL: enhancing areas of the brain; assisting with damaged circuitry parts of the brain, promoting nerve growth in the brain.EMOTIONAL: providing an outlet for emotions; assisting with communicating feelings; offers a calming effect.
Art assists with…MENTAL: improve brain circuitry, decrease impulsivity and violence, increase concentration; establish coping and relaxation tactics; enhance ability to focus.EMOTIONAL: be a means of stress-reduction and emotional regulation; acquire non-verbal expression of feelings; increase self-esteem; improve positive social relations; increase self-awareness.
