Filters

• Filters literally filter the light that passes through your lens to your sensor

• They can be used to help with exposure, cut down glare, enhance color, give special effects

Neutral Density Filter

• A neutral density filters acts like a pair of sunglasses.

• It cuts down the amount of light entering your lens

• This allows you to use slower shutter speeds in brighter light conditions

• This will also make your sky more blue and crisp

• Some Polarizing filters are made to be turned to affect the effectiveness of cutting glare

Black and White Filters

• These filters are colored

• Your cameras have settings to mimic these filters or you can use on lens filters

• Whatever color the filter is, it makes that color appear lighter and all other colors darker.– Ex: a red filter will make red appear lighter
